BACKGROUND:
This purpose of this project was to test my competencies in visual design, conceptualization, acquiring images, type for screen, information hierarchy, image formats. I was tasked to develop a poster and web banner for a movie or video game title. I choose “Gears of Wars 3” as the video game I would be using in my project. I’m a fan of this game and I worked on this project a few months before the game came out. I intentionally tried to avoid searching for any promotional material for the third so I can be inspired by my own ideas.

I did gather images for this project and found some images tied to the original game and the first sequel for my visual library. I then generated fifteen thumbnail sketches for an idea on how the final product would look. The best and most enjoyable part of the project was putting it all together. I completed the assignment on time turning in the poster in the sixth week of class followed by the banner a week later.
